Unit Commander Suffers Gunshot Wounds, Undergoes Surgery: Details

The commander of the Armenian Ministry of Defense's military unit, J. S., has been undergoing surgery after sustaining gunshot wounds in the courtyard of a building in the Southwestern district of Yerevan. According to Robert Kurghinyan, the chief physician of the 'Astghik' Medical Center, his condition is assessed as moderate.

He stated that J. S. was transported to their facility with gunshot wounds to the right thigh and abdomen.

As previously reported, today, a commander born in 1989 was brought to 'Astghik' MC with a gunshot wound from Andranik Street in the Southwestern district. It has been clarified that the gunshot wound was inflicted by a man born in 1962. The commander himself neutralized the attacker.

A 57-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
