Tatoyan: I Just Noticed the Prime Minister's Second Post, Which I Believe Clarifies the Issue

Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan wrote on his Facebook page: “Today, I answered journalists' questions in the National Assembly, one of which was regarding the authority to instruct the initiation of criminal proceedings.

I reiterate once again that the Human Rights Defender is independent and carries out his activities solely based on the Constitution and laws, under the rule of law. The words of the Human Rights Defender should not have any political connotation or subtext, and my response to that question was purely legal in nature and clear, stemming from the law. Giving it a political context, misrepresenting it, or exploiting it is unacceptable.
