Materials Prepared Regarding Child Abuse Case in Kindergarten: Police

The head of the 3rd department of the Criminal Investigation Main Directorate of the Police, Colonel Nelli Duryan, addressed recent reports today regarding incidents of violence against children in one of the kindergartens in Yerevan.

“Facebook user Arthur Hayrapetyan posted on April 3 that 'there is a kindergarten where children are subjected to violence. I am not naming any kindergarten nor making unfounded allegations,'” wrote Duryan.

As a result of the measures taken, a citizen identified as A. was invited to the Juvenile Affairs and Family Violence Department of the Police. She stated that violence had indeed occurred against her child by an educator in one of Yerevan’s kindergartens. A statement has been taken from citizen A.

“Materials are being prepared,” Duryan wrote.
