Criminal Case Initiated for Illegal Alienation of Erebuni Park Areas
A criminal case has been initiated in the Prosecutor's Office of Yerevan regarding the sale of non-alienable land plots through the abuse of official authority by relevant officials of the Erebuni municipality and city hall.
This information was reported by the Office of the Attorney General of Armenia.
Based on materials prepared by the Yerevan Police Department, it was revealed that decisions made during the Erebuni community council meeting on August 12, 2004, violated part 6 of Article 60 of the Land Code and the procedure for the cadastral assessment of land in settlements established by a government decision dated December 24, 2003.
Specifically, through those decisions, a 84-square-meter beer hall located in the "Vardavar Park" area, belonging to the Erebuni community, was sold to a private individual, V.S., for 780,000 AMD, along with a service land plot of 2245.5 square meters. Additionally, an area with a total of 748.45 square meters of buildings and a service area of 5600 square meters was sold to "David-Artak" LLC for 1,550,000 AMD, while an 18-square-meter building with a service plot of 1890 square meters was sold for 108,000 AMD to D.S. Furthermore, a total area of 1807 square meters of buildings and a service area of 2300 square meters was given as a gratuitous donation to V.S.
Rather than present objections to the council’s decisions and contest them in court, the Head of Erebuni municipality leased the entire area of 12035.5 square meters located within Vardavar Park through his resolutions.
Considering that the materials prepared contain apparent characteristics of a crime causing serious damage through the abuse of official powers, a criminal case has been initiated by the senior prosecutor of Yerevan under part 2 of Article 308 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
The investigation has been assigned to the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
