Charges Filed Against Haikoy from Spitak

The 4th Military Investigation Division of the RA Investigative Committee has charged Haikaram Ghevondyan, based on sufficient evidence gathered in the criminal case being investigated under Article 377, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code, with violations under Article 242, Part 2 and Article 244.

As a preventive measure, a signature not to leave has been applied to H. Ghevondyan.

Previously, it was reported that on December 14, 2018, around 07:40, contract serviceman A.Ch. of the RA Ministry of Defense's military unit No. was involved in a traffic incident. While driving the "Kia Sorento" vehicle assigned to him, with military plate number 0032 M, in Khanjyan street of Yerevan, he hit pedestrian Knarik Levoni Petikyan, carelessly causing her death.

During the preliminary investigation, contract serviceman Arayik Chibukhchyan was also charged under Article 377, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code, and a signature not to leave has been applied as a preventive measure.

The investigation into the criminal case is ongoing.

Note: A person suspected or accused of a crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code, by a court decision that has entered into legal force.
