Masked Robbers Bind Elderly Woman in Gegharkunik Province: Details
On April 1, a robbery took place in Gegharkunik Province. At around 20:20, two masked individuals entered house number 44 on 1st street in Varsev village and bound 71-year-old Rhima Poghosyan's hands and feet with adhesive tape.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the masked assailants demanded money and gold and silver jewelry from the woman. Afterward, they ripped the gold earrings from her ears, rummaged through the home, and stole gold jewelry from the bedroom before fleeing.
The police and investigative department are undertaking necessary operational and investigative measures to identify the individuals who committed the crime and to recover the stolen items.
As reported by G. Shamshyan, the robbed elderly woman was found in a helpless state by her son-in-law, Agasi Melkonyan, a 59-year-old resident of the house, who informed the police and investigators that the woman had her mouth, arms, and legs bound, and she had been beaten.
