VIDEO: Son Stabs Mother in Kitchen, Youngest Son Hears Her Screams
On April 1, at around 8:50 PM, the emergency response hotline notified the police department in Nor Nork that they had responded to a call at apartment 31 in the first building on Gay Street, where a woman's body was found. This was reported by the Police of Armenia.
Quickly responding officers from the police and investigative committee determined that a 49-year-old woman had been stabbed. Blood traces and a knife, which is presumed to be the murder weapon, were found at the apartment. A criminal case has been initiated on charges of murder.
The criminal detectives from Nor Nork established that besides the woman, her sons were present in the house, but the elder son was absent. The stabbing occurred in the kitchen. At the time, the younger son was in the living room and heard his mother’s screams after she had already been stabbed.
There is a hypothesis that the elder son was the one who stabbed the mother. Subsequent investigations confirmed the suspicions of the law enforcement agencies. The Nor Nork police began searching for 25-year-old Hakob Khanamiryans.
To locate the young man as soon as possible, operational groups were formed to check the entire administrative area.
As a result, less than an hour after the incident, the suspect was found on Davit Malyan Street in Nor Nork and was taken into custody on suspicion of murder. Hakob Khanamiryans was presented to the territorial investigative department handling the case, where he was arrested.
The circumstances of the case are being clarified through investigative measures and searches.
