Updated: Snowdrifts and Black Ice on Armenia's Roads
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of March 30 at 21:00, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads throughout Armenia.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed.
The Dilijan twists are closed to trucks.
The roads from Sotk to Karvachar, as well as roads in the regions of Kotayk, Tavush, and Lori are difficult to navigate.
There is black ice present on the roads between Lanjik and Mastara, intercommunity roads in the Aragatsotn region of Aparan and Aragatz, as well as roads in the regions of Shirak—specifically in the regions of Amasia and Ashotsk.
In Yerevan, snow is falling in the Dilijan twists, the region of Hrazdan in Kotayk, Aragatz region, in Gegharkunik's Gavar, Vardenis, the town of Jermuk in Vayots Dzor, as well as on the Artik-Alagyaz road in Shirak and at the Meghri Pass in Syunik.
Fog is present in the Dilijan twists and in the Goris-Kajaran area of Syunik, while snow drifts are reported on the Artik-Alagyaz road in Shirak.
Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
