Emergency Incident in Yerevan: 18-Year-Old Student Stabs 22-Year-Old Man

An altercation and stabbing incident occurred in Yerevan. Yesterday, March 29th, around 12:00 PM, a report was received at the Arabkir Police Department from the ‘Mikayelian Institute of Surgery’ that a citizen had been admitted with a ‘laceration-penetrating wound in the abdominal area and superficial scratches in the frontal area’.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, Arabkir police determined that the victim was 22-year-old Sargis Sargsyan, a resident of Yeghvard, who, according to doctors, is unable to provide explanations regarding the incident.

Police established that earlier that day, around 09:30 AM, S. Sargsyan was stabbed by 18-year-old Narek Manukyan from Avan Arinj, causing his injuries. Following explanatory work by the Arabkir police, Manukyan presented himself to the police, confessed to the investigator in the investigative department, and was subsequently released. The senior investigator Antonian is preparing materials regarding the incident.

The knife used in the crime was presented to the investigator by N. Manukyan.

According to the photojournalist's information, N. Manukyan is a third-year student at the Yerevan College of Informatics.
