The former director of the "Central Bus Station" branch of "Hayavtogayaran" has caused material damage amounting to 6 million 650 thousand drams to the company. This was stated in the announcement by the Police of the Republic of Armenia, which we present below.

According to the report by the acting general director of "Hayavtogayaran" LLC, it has been established through materials prepared by the Main Directorate for the Fight Against Organized Crime that, based on preliminary data, directors of "Hayavtogayaran" from 2012 to 2018 entered into leasing agreements with various legal entities and individuals concerning the premises of the "Central Bus Station" located at 6 Isakovan Street in Yerevan without adhering to the provisions of these contracts. By abusing their official positions, they enabled tenants, as well as other unidentified individuals and organizations, to utilize electricity paid for by the company.

According to the investigation materials, "Hayavtogayaran" paid approximately 43,200,000 drams for consumed electricity, while more than 21,655,000 drams, which was excessively spent on electricity necessary for the normal functioning of the "Central Bus Station" branch, had not been deposited into the company’s cash register and was misappropriated.

Preliminary data indicate that the former director of the "Central Bus Station" branch, acting out of personal interest and using his official position contrary to the interests of service, allocated 6 rooms with a total area of 190 square meters for free use to a civilian on the second floor of the administrative building at 6 Isakovan Street starting from January 2018 without a formal leasing agreement, resulting in a material damage of 6,650,000 drams to "Hayavtogayaran" LLC.

A criminal case has been initiated based on the features of Articles 179 (Embezzlement or Waste) and 308 (Abuse of Official Authority) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia regarding the apparent crime, and it has been forwarded to the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia for preliminary investigation.
