Anna Hakobyan Posthumously Awards the Bread Deliverer
On the anniversary of the birth of political scientist and publicist Tigran Hayrapetyan, the "Tigran Hayrapetyan" awards ceremony has been held at the "Mkhtitar Sebastatsi" educational complex since 2006, where teachers and students from the educational complex are awarded the "Tigran Hayrapetyan" scholarship. The award is also given by the newspaper "Haykakan Zhamanak". This year's award from "Haykakan Zhamanak" was posthumously presented to Arthur Sargsyan, known as the Bread Deliverer, for his great humanitarianism and self-sacrifice in delivering bread to the members of the "Sasna Tzer" group who seized the Police Patrol Service building in 2016.
In her speech, Anna Hakobyan, the Prime Minister's wife, emphasized that this award has no political component, on the contrary, it represents that there are situations in the world that transcend political interests, groups, and everything else. The Bread Deliverer embodies this for all of us.
The award was supposed to be presented to the Bread Deliverer’s mother, who could not attend due to her poor health. The Prime Minister's wife announced that she would personally deliver the award and the cash prize to the Bread Deliverer’s mother.
