Accident on Yerevan-Meghri Highway: Car Found in Darb River
On March 11 at 03:55, the emergency services received a report that an accident had occurred on the M-2 Yerevan-Meghri highway near the junction of Jermuk city. A vehicle veered off the roadway and ended up in the Darb River, with no injuries reported. Assistance from rescuers was needed.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a firefighting and rescue unit has been dispatched to the scene.
It was discovered that at the 151st km of the Yerevan-Meghri section of the M-2 highway, a “GAZ-31105” vehicle (driven by K. P., born in 1976) had gone off the road and ended up in the Darb River.
The rescuers cut off the vehicle's electrical power, closed the gas tank valve, and removed branches of a tree leaning on the vehicle. However, specialized equipment is needed to bring the vehicle out of the river.
