Tragic Car Accident on Yerevan-Asharak Road: There Are Fatalities and Injuries

A major and tragic car accident occurred in the administrative area of Kasaq village along the Yerevan-Asharak highway.

Around 18:40, the driver of an Opel vehicle with license plate 34 СС 441 veered off the driving lane while heading towards Yerevan, crashed into an electricity pole, and ended up overturned in the opposite lane. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reporting from the scene, two people died instantly, and three others were critically injured; two were transported by ambulance while one was taken in a civilian vehicle to the "Armenia" Medical Center.

From Shamshyan.com, it is reported that those who died and were injured were ejected from the vehicle, with citizens finding all of them outside the car. The information about the accident was relayed to the Nairi division of the police by Yura Hovhannisyan, the responsible officer at the 1-77 operational management center. An operational group arrived, led by the deputy head of the division. Firefighters from the Emergency Situations Ministry and rescue psychologists from the psychological support center also arrived at the scene.

The police and investigative department are working to identify the driver, the deceased, and the injured.
