Brutal Murder in Kotayk Province: Son Kills Father

Today, a particularly brutal murder occurred in Kotayk Province. The police received a call reporting a male corpse at house 14 on 8th Street in the village of Jrvazh. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, certain details have emerged.

Officers and investigators discovered the body of the house owner, 64-year-old Melkon Cholakhyan, in the bedroom of the noted house. According to the initial conclusion of the forensic expert, the body bears multiple marks of sharp cutting and piercing objects. The police detained the victim's son, 36-year-old Gevorg Cholakhyan, at the crime scene while leaving the house, suspected of murder.

The photojournalist also reports that next to the corpse, in the oven, the police found two knives, one of which was broken at the handle and bore blood-like traces. The investigator seized the knives.

In a conversation with the photojournalist, neighbors, who refused to speak on camera, said, 'We were in shock when we heard that the son killed his father. They were a united family; we don't know what led to such a brutal murder. One of the victim's sons is in the Russian Federation, and the victim's wife is a nurse. They were a quiet, peaceful family. We regret that such an incident occurred.'
