New Details: Young Man Parked His Car on a Bridge and Jumped Off in Kotayk Province

A tragic incident occurred in Kotayk Province. Yesterday, February 20, around 22:50, the Nairi division of the police received a report about a body under the Nor Hachn bridge.

According to photographer Gagik Shamshyan, police discovered the body of 25-year-old Jonic Sargsyan, a resident of Yerevan, beneath the Nor Hachn bridge.

The photographer reports that since the body was found in an inaccessible area, crews from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' rescue service, led by group leader Tigran Asatryan, responded to the scene at the request of the police.

The rescuers managed to bring the body, with great difficulty and at times putting their own lives at risk, 1.5 kilometers to the ambulance crew that arrived from the Abovyan Medical Center. Group leader T. Asatryan, senior firefighter Suren Gevorgyan, firefighter-rescuer Artashes Sahakyan, and rescuer driver Tserun Yeghiazaryan sometimes slipped while covering the distance, which took them one hour, often navigating over debris and through thickets of bushes.

Abovyan investigative division is preparing materials regarding the incident. Police and investigators also discovered a ВАЗ 2107 vehicle with the license plate 34 CN 224 on the bridge, which was driven by J. Sargsyan, who had parked the car on the bridge before jumping off. Various examinations, including a forensic examination of the body, have been ordered by the investigator.
