Explosions From Gas Cylinder in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Death Toll Reaches 80

In Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh in South Asia, more than 80 people have died due to a major fire. The fire originated on the ground floor of a four-story residential building, which housed a storage facility for chemicals.

According to preliminary reports, the cause of the fire was an explosion of a gas cylinder. The area is densely populated, and narrow streets hindered the rapid response of rescuers.

The explosion of the gas cylinder caused the chemicals to ignite immediately, resulting in toxic smoke spreading. Subsequently, the fire extended to four adjacent buildings.
