Blocked and Difficult Roads

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that as of February 21, at 08:00, there are blocked and difficult roads in the territory of Armenia.

The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks with trailers, while it is difficult for passenger vehicles.

Blocked roads include intercommunity roads in Aragatsotn Province’s Aparan region: Tsaghkashen-Aragatc-Vardenut, Nigavan, Lusakert, Yeghepatrush, Mirak, Shoghakan, Tsaghkashen, Kuchak, Saralanj, and in Aragats region: Sipan, Avshen, Charjakis, Midnatun, Shenkani, Leranrot villages.

Difficult roads include Sotk-Karvachar and the intercommunity roads of Hinaberd village in Aragatsotn Province.

In Geghadzor village of Aragatsotn Province, there is local black ice on the roads.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.

About Larsi

According to information received from the Road Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, the stepantsminda-Larsi road is open for all types of vehicles.

According to the information received from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in the Republic of North Ossetia, there are piled-up vehicles on the Russian side.

Construction Works Ongoing

Construction works are being carried out in the section from the 39th km of the Vanadzor-Alaverdi road to Bagratashen.

Alternative routes for transport have been established for the following intercommunity traffic to Alaverdi, Vanadzor cities, and nearby settlements:

1. Vanadzor-Stepanavan-Agarak-Koghes-Aygehahat-Odzun-Alaverdi via border road sections to Georgia.
