30 Bullets, Damaged Lexus: Attempted Murder with a Firearm

An attempted murder involving the use of a firearm occurred in the Tavush Province. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, yesterday, on February 20, around 12:20 PM, an unknown individual opened fire with a submachine gun towards 40-year-old Ararat Tamrazyan, a resident of the Teghut village, at the intersection leading to the administrative building of the Dilijan National Park state non-commercial organization from the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan highway.

The shooter then fled the scene.

A group from the Dilijan investigative department of the Tavush regional investigative directorate of the Armenian Investigative Committee, led by department head Gyozalyan and particularly important case investigator Smbat Saghatelyan, also worked at the site. In light of the seriousness of the crime, Tavush region prosecutor Viktor Grigoryan also arrived at the location. Law enforcement officials discovered approximately 30 bullets fired from a submachine gun, as well as a Lexus GX 470 vehicle with the license plate 50 QQ 700, which bore numerous bullet holes. A large number of fired cartridges and a submachine gun magazine were also found. A criminal case has been initiated at the Dilijan investigative department under part 1 of Article 34-104 and part 1 of Article 235 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. Several comprehensive examinations have been appointed.
