Vahagn Chakhalyan Suspected of Assaulting Deputy Director of Elite Construction Company

Materials are being prepared in the investigative division of the Mashtots Police Department regarding an altercation that took place in Yerevan yesterday, on February 19. This information has been reported by Shamshyan.com.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, operational information was received at the Davitashen Police Station that an argument and fight occurred in the 4th neighborhood of Davitashen around 12:30 PM between Gurgen Melkonyan, a 45-year-old resident of the city of Ejmiatsin, and another citizen, which resulted in G. Melkonyan sustaining physical injuries.

Officers from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Mashtots Police Department, under the leadership of department head Pavel Ordyan, and officers from the Davitashen Police Station, headed by station chief Yenokyan, as well as officers from the Main Department of State Protection of the Police, led by squad commander Gevorgyan, have established that Vahagn Chakhalyan was involved in the altercation and inflicted injuries on G. Melkonyan.

The police are taking necessary operational-search measures to locate V. Chakhalyan. According to reports from the photojournalist, G. Melkonyan works as a deputy director at “Yeranav” LLC, which specializes in constructing elite buildings, while V. Chakhalyan is known to the public as the coordinator of the “Kamq” initiative.
