Director of Noravan School Restores Damages Caused to the State
The investigation into the case of misappropriations at the Noravan Secondary School has been completed by the Sisian investigative division of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia in the Syunik region. According to the information department of the Investigative Committee, charges have been brought against the school's director.
It was previously reported that during the 2016-2017 period, the director of the Noravan Secondary School simultaneously registered the school's electrician also as a yard guard, furnace stoker, and security guard, keeping his salary bank card in his possession.
According to data obtained during the pre-trial proceedings, the director, using his official position for selfish motives, with a unified criminal intent, aimed to embezzle substantial funds from the state. From January 2016 to December 2017 inclusively, he personally withdrew his employee's salary from an ATM and gave him 20,000 AMD in cash every month while embezzling the remaining amount totaling 1,849,664 AMD.
Moreover, during the investigation, it was found that in order to hide the embezzlement of significant amounts, the director had inserted false information regarding the terms of the signed employment contracts.
Based on sufficient evidence collected, charges have been brought against the school director under the relevant points of Article 179, Part 2, Items 1 and 3, and Article 314, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
During the investigation, the director fully restored the damages he caused to the state.
The conclusion of the investigation has been announced, and the criminal case has been forwarded to the court with an accusatory conclusion.
