Difficult and Blocked Roads in Armenia

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of 08:30 on February 20, there are blocked and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia.

The Vardenyats Pass is closed to trucks with trailers, while it is difficult to navigate for passenger cars.

The following roads are closed: the intercommunity roads of the Shirak region - Amasiya-Zarishat, Amasiya-Berdashen, as well as the intercommunity roads of Ararat region in the Aparan area - Tsaghkashen-Aragats-Vardenut, Nigavan, Lusagyugh, Vardenis, Chknagh, Yeghipatrush, Mirak, Ttujur, Dzoraglukh, and the Aragats region - Sipan, Avshen, Charchakis, Midnatun, Shenkani, and Lerrnqrot.

The Sotk-Karvachar and the intercommunity roads between the village of Hnaberd in the Aragatsotn region and the region of Ashotq also remain difficult to navigate.

There is black ice in some places on the roads connecting Gyumri to Ashotq in Shirak province and the road to Geghadzor village in Aragatsotn region.

Drivers are advised to travel only with winter tires.

According to information from the Road Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is open for all types of vehicles. According to information from the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia, there are accumulated vehicles on the Russian side.
