Former Mayor Resigns Amid Protests, Wins Election in Urtsadzor
In the elections for the mayor of the Urtsadzor community in Ararat, former mayor Rafik Andreasian has emerged victorious. He had resigned in October 2018 following protests.
According to preliminary results from the Central Election Commission, Andreasian received 911 votes, while acting community leader Gevorg Avetisyan garnered 744 votes. Mayoral candidate Andranik Karapetyan received 108 votes, Andranik Mkhitaryan got 37 votes, and Samvel Simonian secured 386 votes.
