Only 2 of 20 Communities Saw Victory for the RPA

The Central Electoral Commission has summarized the results of the local government elections held on February 17 in 20 communities of Armenia, which are quite notable.

According to News.am, in the Tegher community of the Aragatsotn region, there was one candidate, an independent, former community leader Garnik Hovhannisyan, who received 84 votes and was elected mayor.

In the Ohanyan community of Aragatsotn, independent Edgar Hayrapetyan won, while the former mayor received the second most votes with 485.

In the Arevabuyr community of the Ararat region, independent acting community leader Jivan Manukyan won with 381 votes.

In the Urtsadzor community of Ararat, the previous mayor Rafik Andreasyan, who resigned at the request of the authorities, won, while the second place went to the temporary community leader of the ruling party, Gevorg Avetisyan, with 744 votes.

In the Vardashen community of Ararat, former mayor Gevorg Barkhoyan won with 134 votes, and the other candidate, independent Shahen Avagyan, lost by just one vote.

In the Haykavan community of Armavir, the only candidate was former mayor, independent Ruben Ghazaryan, who won with 323 votes.

In the Hovtamej community of Armavir, former mayor, independent Armen Sarksyan won with 218 votes.

In the Nalbandyan community of Armavir, former mayor Grigor Mkrtchyan was the clear leader with 961 votes.

In the Nor Armavir community of Armavir, independent former community leader Arthur Avetisyan won. In the Vardanashen community of Armavir, former RPA mayor Arthur Manukyan won.

In the Akunk community of Gegharkunik, independent Nikola Kharatryan won, followed by the head of the culture house, independent Norik Hayrapetyan, and in third place was the RPA candidate Karen Simonian.

In the town of Vardenis in Gegharkunik, independent acting community leader Aram Melkonyan won with 1,713 votes, while the RPA candidate and regional governor's deputy Vahan Zaroyan came in sixth with 504 votes. Eight candidates were registered for the election.

In the Dzoraget community of Lori, the acting community leader, independent Armen Grigoryan, has won.

In the Nor Geghi community of Kotayk, RPA candidate and temporary community leader Vardan Papyan won with 1,212 votes, despite recent protests against him. In the Khachis community of Kotayk, independent 27-year-old Rafael Grigoryan, the son of MP Sasun Mikayelyan's friend, won.

In the consolidated community of Ashotzk in Shirak, RPA candidate Karen Manukyan won, with former RPA mayor Arthur Aloyan in second place.

In the Harich community of Shirak, former mayor independent Roland Nazaretyan won with 361 votes.

In the Malishka community of Vayots Dzor, independent Garik Nazaryan won, while former mayor Mher Movsisyan lost.

In the Aknaghbyur community of Tavush, former mayor independent Karen Dolmazyan won. In the Tzaghkavan community of Tavush, independent school teacher Iskandar Mehrabyan won.
