Snowfall on Several Highways of the Republic
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology of Armenia reports that as of February 1 at 20:00, snowfall is occurring on the highways of the regions of Sevan, Aparan, Spitak, Aragats, Akhuryan, Talin, Vayk, Jermuk, Ashotik, and Artik, as well as the Saravani mountain pass.
The Sisian-Goris road section is difficult to traverse for heavy and trailer vehicles due to snow and black ice. Drivers are advised to travel on this road section only with snow chains.
There is a snowdrift on the section leading from the Sevan Peninsula to the Dilijan tunnel.
The Vardenyats mountain pass is impassable for passenger vehicles due to snow, while it is closed for heavy and trailer transport.
Road construction workers are engaged in snow clearing and treatment with salt and sand on the highways.
Other interstate and national significance highways in Armenia are open.
