Major and Tragic Car Accident in Yerevan
Today, on February 1, a major and tragic car accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 6 PM, a collision took place between a Volkswagen vehicle with license plate 35 TC 450 and a Hovo vehicle with license plate 018 RR 18 on Monte Melkonyan Street. This information was reported by Shamshyan.com.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the driver of the Volkswagen was extracted from the vehicle by citizens and officers of the Yerevan Road Police. He was transported by ambulance to the Armenia Medical Center, where he died without regaining consciousness.
Officers from the Yerevan Road Police, led by Deputy Chief David Avagyan, arrived at the scene. The Emergency Situations Ministry's number 1 fire-rescue squad, headed by group leader Arsen Gevorgyan, also responded to the scene. Rescuers disconnected the power to the vehicles, closed the gas cylinder, and secured the area.
At this moment, officers from the 4th squad of the 1st police battalion, led by senior inspector Artak Sargsyan, are strengthening the service at the scene.
The police and investigative department are working to identify the drivers involved, including the deceased Volkswagen driver.
