Illegal Charges for Parking Will Be Subject to Liability
Several individuals have been summoned by the police for engaging in illegal entrepreneurial activities and charging additional fees for parking in paid parking spaces marked with red lines, as well as in certain free parking areas on the central streets of Yerevan. This was reported by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Yerevan Municipality.
"It is unacceptable for third parties to conduct entrepreneurial activities without legal permission, collecting additional fees from citizens who have already paid the local parking fee. In order to prevent this phenomenon, the Yerevan Municipality, with the support of the police, is implementing a series of measures," said Acting Head of the Trade and Services Department of the Municipality, J.P. Hovik Safaryan, adding that citizens have been informed and warned to cease their illegal activities.
The prepared materials will be sent to the relevant authorities. The violators will face administrative liability of 200,000 drams. Furthermore, if the total amount of charges collected and unpaid taxes exceeds 500,000 drams within a specific period, the legislation provides for criminal liability.
