VIDEO: Assault on 55-Year-Old Employee of Betting Office Uncovered

On the night of January 27th, around 3 AM, the Marashi division of the police received a call regarding a robbery.

An unidentified individual had attacked a 55-year-old employee at the betting office located on Alek Manukyan Street. The assailant took 800,000 drams from the cash register and fled the scene. The woman was transported to the hospital with multiple injuries.

The attending physician informed the departing police officers that the victim was unable to provide a statement. A criminal case was initiated under the characteristics of robbery. A forensic examination was ordered. Extensive operational-search and investigative measures were undertaken to identify and locate the perpetrator of the crime. The suspect came into the spotlight of the police.

As a result of effective cooperation among several police units, on the morning of January 30th, a suspect in the robbery was found and taken into custody in Shiraz Street of the capital. The suspect was 27-year-old Artak Abrahamyan, a resident of Yerevan. During a search of his residence, part of the stolen money was discovered. The identified cash has been confiscated, and Artak Abrahamyan has been arrested. The circumstances of the incident are being clarified, and a preliminary investigation is ongoing.
