Suspect in Armed Robbery at Varks.am Identified: He is a Student, and His Father is a Businessman

A short while ago, the officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Yerevan City Police (led by Chief Garik Ghukasyan and Department Head Karen Buniatyan) and the Arabkir Division of the Police (under the leadership of Division Head Armen Vatyan) uncovered the suspect responsible for the armed robbery that occurred yesterday, January 21, at the universal credit organization Varks.am, located on Komitas Avenue in the Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Samuel Farmanyan, a resident of the Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan, who has just been taken into custody by the Arabkir Division of the Police.

As reported by the photojournalist, from the moment the incident occurred until he was apprehended, the police undertook numerous operational measures and based on substantial evidence, only then managed to neutralize S. Farmanyan. The photojournalist has further informed that he is a student at one of Yerevan's universities, majoring in economics, and his father is an individual entrepreneur engaged in the buying and selling of automotive lubricants and oils.
