Decision to Arrest Manvel Grigoryan Made Under Pressure, Lawyer Says
Following the court's decision to arrest former Armenian MP Manvel Grigoryan, his defense team exited through the back door without responding to journalists' questions.
One of his lawyers, Arsen Mkrtchyan, wrote on his Facebook page addressing the reporters: "Dear journalists, please refrain from calling— I will not comment on the anti-Armenian judicial decisions made under pressure that have no connection with law, legality, or logic for now."
It should be noted that Manvel Grigoryan was released on bail of 25 million dram on December 21, based on a decision by the Court of General Jurisdiction in Yerevan (Judge Davit Balayan). The Prosecutor General's Office has appealed this decision.
After Grigoryan's release, several demonstrations took place in Yerevan and Echmiadzin. Participants in today's demonstration stated that justice has been restored.
