Today Manvel Grigoryan's Detention Will Prove That Our State Is Legitimate, Activist
General Manvel Grigoryan's detention is being demanded by several dozen residents of Ejmiadzin who have just arrived at the Armenian Court of Appeals. Alongside the demonstration, supporters of Grigoryan's lawyer Arsen Mkrtchyan are also staging a protest near the courthouse. Ara Zohrabyan, the president of the Chamber of Advocates, is also present.
The protesters chanted, "Tushonka", "The Police Are Ours", and "Judges, Be Brave".
One of the protesters mentioned in an interview with reporters that they gathered there to express the people's opinion and demand their own rights.
When asked what it would mean to them if Grigoryan were detained today, one activist replied: "Spiritual peace and further proof that our state is indeed legitimate".
