I Am Proud of Her: Sanasaryan Denies That His Spokesperson Uses Leverage in the Case of Mher Yenokyan

David Sanasaryan, the head of the State Control Service of Armenia, spoke to reporters today, denying that his spokesperson, Zarouhi Mejlumyan, uses administrative leverage to justify Mher Yenokyan, who has been convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Yosif Agajanyan.

“This does not correspond to reality; such a thing does not exist,” he stated during the meeting with journalists.

Sanasaryan expressed pride in his spokesperson, saying, “She performs her service at a quite high level, and her work is exclusively within the functions of the State Control Service.”

The head of oversight warned that if anyone officially declares that Mejlumyan uses leverage, they will end up in court.

“I have said that regardless of the attack, we are here for professional matters, and Zarouhi Mejlumyan has not been involved in any other issues during working hours,” he said.

Sanasaryan added that if anyone can show that he or his employees have told a public official to “handle this issue this way,” he promises to resign and never engage in politics again.

It is noteworthy that several years ago, the father of the brutally murdered Yosif Agajanyan, Mikhail Agajanyan, head of the Department of Biochemistry at Yerevan State Medical University and a merit scholar in science of Armenia, has claimed that Mejlumyan has questionable ties with Mher Yenokyan, who killed his son, and that she has used leverage.
