I Advise YSU Rector to Hire Good Lawyers: David Sanasaryan

YSU rector Aram Simonian's statements are detached from reality. This was stated by the Director of the State Oversight Service, David Sanasaryan, at a press conference today.

“These glaring, detached, manipulative statements cannot change the situation in any way. I advise all current and former officials not to follow Aram Simonian's example and immediately assume that political persecution is taking place and so on. He says, I assume I am from the Republican Party, that’s why this is happening. Whether they are from the Republican Party, the Civil Contract, or any other party, all officials must be equal before the law and accountable. There cannot be one who tries to create a different situation with any outcry, misleading people, claiming that we are being persecuted because we are members of the Republican Party,” said David Sanasaryan.

It should be noted that last year, Aram Simonian held a press conference and addressed the audits conducted by the State Oversight Service at YSU. Sanasaryan’s statement that 800 million drams in embezzlement had been discovered at YSU was deemed unfounded by Aram Simonian, who said he would sue Sanasaryan. He noted that these audits have a political context and aim to discredit him and YSU.

He noted that the biggest manipulation is as follows: Aram Simonian said that audits of 9 billion drams in state purchases were conducted. David Sanasaryan claims this is a lie; only 2.5 billion drams worth of purchases were investigated. He stated that they are not an investigative body; they conduct reviews by law.

“I assure you that if the investigations take a long time, those numbers will multiply. We have not examined the Ijevan branch. A question arises: why aren’t you studying for a long time? Because we don’t have time; we cannot study YSU for a whole year or two. We assure you that we are responsible for the information created as a result of our investigation,” said Sanasaryan.

Sanasaryan advised Aram Simonian to hire good lawyers to give him proper advice.
