Gazprom Armenia Has Expectations
Gazprom Armenia expects that discussions around the gas price will lead to solutions that ensure the company's normal operations and the reliable and safe gas supply for consumers. This was stated by Gazprom Armenia in response to a query from Tert.am.
According to the additional agreement No. 69 signed on December 30, 2018, under the natural gas supply contract No. 02-13-04 between the Russian Gazprom Export LLC and Gazprom Armenia LLC, the price of natural gas supplied to Armenia is set at $165.00 per 1,000 cubic meters for the period from January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2019. Furthermore, there will be no recalculation of the gas price based on the calorific value of the supplied natural gas during the specified period.
It is noteworthy that starting January 1, 2019, Armenia will pay $165 instead of the previous $150 per 1,000 cubic meters at the border. Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that the gas price for consumers will not increase in the foreseeable future. Negotiations regarding the gas tariff for consumers resumed on January 8 between Gazprom Armenia and the Armenian government. Acting Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan stated that the negotiations will conclude once an effective solution is found, and until then, Gazprom Armenia will not submit a request for a gas price revision.
