Judge Recuses Himself in Robert Kocharian's Bail Hearing

The judge presiding over the bail hearing for Armenia's second president, Robert Kocharian, has recused herself. This was announced by Kocharian's lawyer, Aram Orbelyan, following the court's session today, January 10.

“The judge decided to comply with the investigator's and prosecutor's motion for recusal. The grounds for the decision are unknown,” said Orbelyan.

According to the lawyer, the judge's decision indicates that she is avoiding the administration of justice.

It is noteworthy that yesterday, the General Jurisdiction Court of Yerevan decided to postpone the hearing in the case of Robert Kocharian.
