Nikol Pashinyan’s Spokesperson on Gas Prices

Nikol Pashinyan’s Spokesperson on Gas Prices

The price of gas for consumers will not increase due to the efficiency improvements of "Gazprom Armenia" costs.

This was stated by Arman Yeghoyan, spokesperson for acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in an interview with Tert.am. He also rules out the possibility of "Gazprom Armenia" accumulating debt after a price increase at the border. “At no point can something become clear that hasn't been determined now,” he noted.

Below is an excerpt from the media interview:

- Mr. Yeghoyan, acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that gas prices at the border will increase – from $150 to $165 per 1000 cubic meters, but gas will not increase in price for consumers. What is the basis for this – will the government subsidize it, or will "Gazprom Armenia" distribute it at the same rate?

- The price of gas for consumers will not increase due to the efficiency improvements of "Gazprom Armenia" costs.

- Considering previous experience, could it later be revealed that Armenia owes "Gazprom Armenia", leading to property being exchanged for debt? Do you rule out the creation of such a situation?

- Everything must be decided now. At no point can it become clear that something was not decided now. Negotiations with "Gazprom Armenia" resumed yesterday, and a solution to the issue is expected in the coming days. Regardless of what the solution is, it cannot later be revealed that the solution was not what it was presented as.
