Positive Outcome From Electricity Tariff Revision: Economist

Starting from February 1, 2019, socially vulnerable families will pay 30 drams per kWh for electricity during the day instead of 40 drams. This was announced by economist Artak Manukyan on his Facebook page.

“The revision of electricity tariffs has resulted in a positive outcome, in which case from February 1, 2019, the electricity tariff could have either been reduced:

• a) for all consumers (by 0.37 drams)
• b) or only for socially vulnerable families (by 10 drams).

The second option was chosen, which, in my opinion, is again a partial approach rather than a strategic one...

Note: In any case, starting from February 1, 2019, socially vulnerable families will pay 30 drams per kWh during the day instead of 40 drams, and at night they will pay 20 drams instead of 30 drams per kWh,” emphasized the economist.
