A Armenian TV Channel to be Launched in Turkey

For the first time in the history of the Republic of Turkey, an Armenian television channel will be broadcasted. Named after the newspaper, it will be called “Loyus” TV, providing high-quality (HD) broadcasts in Armenian and Turkish, accessible via mobile phones and tablets. This was reported by ermenihaber.am.

The television channel is set to officially launch within a month; however, “Loyus TV” conducted its first live broadcast on January 6 from the Saint Vardan and Gum Gapu districts' St. Mary churches in Istanbul, coinciding with the Armenian Apostolic Church's celebration of the birth of Christ.

Member of the “Loyus TV” and “Loyus” news council, Harutyun Kural stated, “With the holiday of Christmas, Loyus TV was also born.”

According to Harutyun Kural, following the bi-weekly published “Loyus” newspaper, “Loyus TV” is the first Armenian television channel in the history of republican Turkey.

“This was the project of my father, Aram Kural, a journalist for 35 years. He believed that an Armenian television channel is necessary for the Armenian community, and we have realized this dream,” noted Harutyun Kural.

“In addition to general news, there will also be news of interest to the Armenian community, as well as programs related to art, culture, sports, health, economy, and politics. There are plans for live debate programs, including special broadcasts on significant and festive days for the Armenian community,” Kural informed.
