Bezoar Goat Found Dead in Zoo
Incidents and unwanted occurrences have persistently plagued the Zoo in recent times.
Aurora News has learned from the Zoo's public relations department that a tragic event took place this morning involving one of the bezoar goats, which was discovered dead.
The situation is that this particular bezoar goat had escaped from its enclosure on Monday and found itself outside the Zoo's boundaries, but was returned by the efforts of the Zoo staff. The department reports that the animal had inhabited that enclosure since 2013, the year it was born. An in-depth investigation will determine the reasons behind the animal's escape and the cause of its death.
“It is a fact, however, that the events unfolding around the Zoo in recent times continue, and it is impossible not to notice a consistency and a struggle to achieve desired outcomes.
We do not consider it coincidence that this latest incident occurred following the recent interview with the Zoo's director published in irates.am.
We are convinced that as long as law enforcement agencies are not fully and comprehensively addressing the events occurring in the Zoo and those responsible have not been punished, this situation will unfortunately continue.
This incident also highlights the urgency of the Zoo management's repeatedly raised issue of enclosing the entire territory of the Zoo,” the statement notes.
It is worth recalling that there are currently 12 bezoar goats in the Zoo, three of which were born this year. In the aforementioned interview, Zoo Director Ruben Khachatryan stated that previously people had significant opportunities to earn money illegally within the Zoo.
