VIDEO: Don't be constrained by anyone's ability or position - Osipyan to Kotayk police

“Act boldly and do not be constrained by anyone's ability or position, excluding discrimination...” This was the demand made by Valeriy Osipyan, the acting Chief of Police of Armenia, during a working meeting with Kotayk police officers.

It is noted that the police chief met with candidates running in the parliamentary elections scheduled for December 9 in a proportional electoral system and the heads of their campaign offices in Tsaghkadzor.

Valeriy Osipyan informed them that the police are carrying out and have carried out measures to gather operational information regarding illegal actions related to the elections in the capital and all regions, including Kotayk.

“We will consistently and unhindered respond to any alerts,” emphasized the police chief, urging those present to actively cooperate with the police.

Osipyan elaborated on the prohibited activities related to the elections and the practical steps the system has undertaken to prevent them. His working visit to Kotayk concluded with a meeting with local police officers. The acting police chief highlighted the types of crimes where efforts should be intensified to prevent and detect them.

The tasks of the Kotayk police during the pre-election period and on election day were particularly discussed. Taking into account the capabilities of the regional police, Valeriy Osipyan expressed hope that the elections in Kotayk would also be free and transparent. The police chief strictly instructed that instances of promising, offering, giving, or accepting bribes for votes, grouping within a 50-meter radius around polling places, congestion of vehicles near polling place entrances, double voting, and entry into polling stations with weapons and ammunition must be excluded.
