‘License to Kill’: 40 Arab Doctors Arrested in Israel with Fake Medical Diplomas from Armenia
Today, 40 Arab doctors have been arrested in Israel for holding fake medical diplomas issued in Armenia. The Israeli police have detained these 40 doctors, pharmacists, and interns who obtained fraudulent medical and pharmaceutical diplomas from Armenian universities. Law enforcement has strong reasons to suspect that these diplomas are illegal, as the aforementioned individuals obtained them without completing medical educational institutions.
According to information, they presented these diplomas and received permits to work in various leading medical facilities in Israel. All of the detainees are Israeli citizens, but of Arab ethnicity. In fact, one of them was arrested while on duty at the Barzilai clinic.
This massive fraud case has been dubbed ‘License to Kill’. This was reported today by the website www.vesty.co.il. According to police data, the investigation began following an anonymous complaint received by the Israeli Ministry of Health. The investigation was kept secret for a long time, and only after sufficient evidence was in police hands were the suspects, most of whom lived in Arab communities, arrested.
During the investigation, it was found that the suspects studied at various educational institutions abroad. With the help of forgers, they were admitted to the St. Teresa, Mkhitar Gosh, and Haibousak educational institutions, where they studied for a short time and obtained diplomas.
It is worth noting that the issue of fake medical diplomas issued in Armenia became more pressing about a year ago, following the statement from the Israeli Ministry of Health that the diplomas issued by Armenian universities were fraudulent. The Israeli Ministry of Health had approached the police to verify the validity of diplomas held by certain dentists with Armenian samples. For over two years, the Israeli Ministry of Health has not validated hundreds of diplomas issued by Armenian universities. The Armenian side has repeatedly denied these reports.
