What is the Situation on the Roads

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Armenia reports that as of December 2 at 10:00, it is snowing on the roads of Vayots Dzor and Vardenis regions as well as in the Vardenyats Pass. The Vardenyats Pass is impassable.

There is fog in the Saravan Pass, with visibility ranging from 20 to 50 meters. Road construction teams are working on snow removal and treating the roads with salt and sand.

All interstate and national significance roads are open.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia reports that as of December 2 at 08:30, there are snow showers in the town of Vardenis, Gegharkunik region. There is fog in the mountainous areas of Spitak and Stepanavan, as well as on the Sisian-'Zanger' road in Syunik region.

Drivers are advised to travel in the regions exclusively with winter tires.

According to information received from the Emergency Situations Agency of Georgia and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is closed for freight vehicles. There are 120 freight trucks accumulated on the Russian side.
