The Conflict Page Will Be Closed: Bayramov on Relations with Armenia

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, discussed regional cooperation, infrastructure restoration, and relations with Armenia during a city conference. According to him, the ongoing normalization process between Yerevan and Baku lays the foundations for economic cooperation and regional integration. In the context of closing the chapter on conflict, the Azerbaijani side also emphasized the importance of shaping a peace agenda, reports the APA news agency.

"The normalization process that has begun between Azerbaijan and Armenia is a prerequisite for regional integration and mutually beneficial cooperation. It creates a solid foundation. This process is a crucial stage for reinforcing peace and developing economic relations," he stated.

According to the minister, modern cities and settlements are becoming strategic platforms where digitization, the climate agenda, and regional cooperation intersect. Despite the significant impact of urban environments on emissions volumes, they simultaneously serve as the main driving force against innovation and crises. In this context, the role of cities in multilateral diplomacy and the implementation of investment programs is highlighted.

Regarding internal programs, Bayramov indicated that extensive restoration work is being carried out in the territories under their control. The construction of settlements is being conducted based on the principles of "green energy," "smart city," and climate resilience. According to Azerbaijani data, around 15 billion USD has been invested for post-conflict restoration and infrastructure development, presented as part of a strategy aimed at establishing peace.
