300 Thousand Ethnic Azerbaijanis Displaced from Armenia Arrive in Azerbaijan, Says Hajiyev

Certain state benefits were allocated for internally displaced persons in Azerbaijan. This was announced by Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant to the President of Azerbaijan.

“The main goal of the Azerbaijani government was to ensure their safe and dignified return to their homes. Despite the difficult conditions of that period, the Azerbaijani government has built 300,000 houses and apartments for refugees and displaced persons, so that people can live in normal conditions. I believe that every language has this expression: regardless of whether it is big or small, a person's own home is their fortress. Guided by this philosophy, we have provided displaced persons with living conditions. However, their primary desire remains to return home. Meanwhile, the issues related to the accommodation of internally displaced persons are becoming even more complicated, as 300,000 ethnic Azerbaijanis displaced from Armenia have also arrived in Azerbaijan,” stated Hikmet Hajiyev.

Hajiyev noted that the conflict is now behind, and Azerbaijan is faced with new realities.
