Armenian Athlete Defeats Azerbaijani Opponent: Returning from Europe with Medals

On the second day of competitions at the Sambo European Championship held in Tbilisi, Armenian athlete Karen Sargsyan became the champion in the sports sambo category for the 58 kg weight class.

In the 88 kg weight category, Gor Harutyunyan triumphed over an Azerbaijani athlete, becoming the European champion in sports sambo. Leonid Melikyan also claimed the title of European vice-champion in combat sambo.

The Sambo Federation has reported these successes. It is worth recalling that in the 64 kg weight category, Mayis Nersesyan became the vice-champion in combat sambo. Gevorg Azatyan earned a bronze medal in the 79 kg weight category of combat sambo.
