Dog Missing for 12 Years Reunited with Owner
A thirteen-year-old husky named Sierra has been reunited with her owner after more than ten years apart, thanks to a microchip, reports People magazine.
According to the publication, Sierra went missing in 2014 when her owner moved from New Mexico to Texas. After spending more than 12 years on the streets, the dog was found at a shelter. She was discovered in Florida, more than 2,200 kilometers away from home.
Shelter staff located Sierra's implanted microchip. Despite the dog's extremely poor condition, they were able to contact her owner using the chip's information. The owner, who had long given up hope of seeing his pet again, was soon able to bring the husky back home.
