Current Condition of Hospitalized Patients Due to Infection in Gyumri
According to Armen Khachatryan, the deputy director of the Gyumri Medical Center, the patients were not transferred to the hospital at the same time; four were admitted three days ago, some others the following day, and two were admitted yesterday. All of them have been tentatively diagnosed with intestinal infection.
He added that the hospitalized patients are receiving treatment and are now waiting for the results of the "bakanaliz" tests. "We have signs of improvement, and at this moment, many are in a mild condition. That’s all I can say; I cannot answer questions about the causes or circumstances," he stated.
According to the deputy director, the youngest among the hospitalized patients is 7 years old.
“No one has been discharged yet. We cannot discharge anyone until we have the bakanaliz results. Their health status allows for discharge, but we need to understand what caused the illness before we can release them to prevent further infections,” he explained.
It is noteworthy that yesterday, the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported that 15 children from the "Mother Armenia" center in Gyumri were hospitalized in the infectious disease department of the Gyumri Medical Center.
