Four School Directors in Aragatsotn Submit Resignation Requests: Pashinyan
Four school directors in the Aragatsotn province have submitted their resignation requests; however, these requests will not be processed while an investigation is underway. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister and candidate for Prime Minister from the Civil Contract party, Nikol Pashinyan, during an off-site press conference in Ajapnyak.
Pashinyan explained that it was he who instructed them to submit their resignation requests. On May 13, media reported that teachers and students from rural schools were participating in the Civil Contract party's campaign in Aparan, with lessons being specifically cut short. One resident even asked Pashinyan whether it was acceptable for teachers to attend a campaign event during class hours. Without answering, Pashinyan boarded a bus and left.
“The directors of the schools that have issues have submitted their resignation requests. We do not want to act harshly or unjustly based on emotions at the moment, as there have been various comments and clarifications. We will conduct an official investigation, and where it is determined that an illegal directive was given, those individuals will be dismissed,” Pashinyan stated.
He insisted that he abhors the use of administrative resources and has strictly instructed to exclude it. According to Pashinyan, if anyone is coerced to participate in their rallies or conversely is prevented from doing so by the use of administrative resources, it will not go unanswered.
