Armenia Listed Among Dangerous Countries for Russian Citizens by Russian Foreign Ministry
Grigori Lukyantsev, a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, has stated that Russian citizens traveling abroad should be aware of the risks of arrest in third countries and extradition to the United States. In an interview with "RIA Novosti," the director of the department for multilateral cooperation on human rights emphasized that many countries, including EU members, have specific obligations for extradition.
According to Lukyantsev, these factors should be considered when assessing travel risks. He added that the ministry does not restrict citizens' movement but only advises against visiting certain countries if individuals believe they may encounter problems with European or American law enforcement agencies.
The Russian foreign ministry's data suggests that among the countries with a high likelihood of arresting Russian citizens at the request of the United States are most countries in Europe and Latin America, Canada, Australia, Armenia, Israel, South Korea, the Maldives, Singapore, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Fiji, Morocco, and Liberia. The ministry also emphasizes that this list is not exhaustive and does not include all countries that have extradition agreements with the United States.
