Election Scandal: CPP Under Scrutiny as 'Strong Armenia' Faces Allegations

The Anti-Corruption Committee has uncovered new cases of electoral bribery.

As a result of operational-investigative measures carried out by the employees of the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia, factual evidence has emerged indicating that the territorial leader of the 'Strong Armenia' party in the Ani community of Shirak province, along with close relatives and other individuals, promised several voters to vote for their party in the upcoming National Assembly elections on June 7, 2026, in exchange for bribes. They attempted to conceal the process by registering these individuals as responsible party members or activists at the party's territorial office and paying the bribes under the guise of salaries.

Furthermore, an individual representing the 'Strong Armenia' party has allegedly threatened voters with repercussions for failing to comply with demands purportedly made on behalf of individuals with high-ranking criminal status, thereby obstructing their free exercise of voting rights.

In response to the incident, the Anti-Corruption Committee has initiated criminal proceedings, arrested several individuals, and conducted searches along with other procedural actions.
