According to the author, the president maintained a "platonic" relationship with the star for several months, but later sent "rather far-reaching" texts. The journalist noted that Macron informed the actress that he finds her very beautiful. Tardif added that the story was recounted to him by individuals close to the president.

On May 13, in an interview with Le Parisien, representatives of Brigitte Macron denied these claims, emphasizing that the First Lady would never check her husband's phone. However, on the morning of May 2025, at the start of a week-long tour of Southeast Asia, an incident occurred at Hanoi's airport in Vietnam. In footage captured at the moment the presidential plane's doors were opening, Brigitte is seen lightly slapping Emmanuel Macron, who was inside.
